“Gendered Bodies in Southeast Asia” at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila
January 26 @ 2:00 pm - March 22 @ 5:00 pm
The Metropolitan Museum of Manila in partnership with the Philippine Contemporary Art Network and the Taiwan National Culture and Arts Council present Gendered Bodies in Southeast Asia.
Gendered Bodies in Southeast Asia is an exhibition that pays tribute to female artists from Southeast Asia, as pioneers in advancing art’s transformative role in contemporary societies, and as educators of artistic communities. A collaborative curatorial initiative of Filipino curator Tessa Maria Guazon and Taiwanese curator Fang-Tze Hsu, this exhibition addresses contemporary precarity through a trans-generational effort, initiating dialogues with a younger generation of artists, who continue these endeavors with new aesthetic languages.
